Black Student 1st Basket Ball Tournament

Give student a chance to improve health through recreation.

Black Student Union a recognized student organization on Missouri Western State University will be having their 1st annual Basket Ball Tournament. The tournament will take place in the commons in basketball courts on April 2, 2011.Contact Rodney Robert for more information by email at mwsubsu@gmail.com.
The tournament will begin promptly at 1pm and will end around 7pm. The entry fee for the tournament is 10.00 per person, each team can have 3 players, 1 alternate, and 1 substitute. How many people are officially on your team is to your discretion, no substation will be allowed after registration. Black Student Union will begin registration the week of the 7th and registration will end on March 24th the Thursday before the tournament. There will be a cash prize of 500.00 for the overall winner of the tournament.
Also there is a slam dunk contest during the down time of the tournament. There are 8 spots are available for dunkers the prize has not been determined yet. The contestant will be judge by a panel of former basket ball players and their peers. They will be judge on creativity, originality and showmanship. Same registration rules apply to the basket ball team. Student will also get a chance to see a performance from the Black Student Union Step team during the intermission.
This organization will not be gaining any profits for the event. It is being thrown for the sole purpose of entertainment for the students. The men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. are co-sponsoring the event with Black Student. The Sigma’s will be in charge of giveaways, music and food at the event. They will have a table there to sell 50 tickets to the party that night located at legends loft located in Saint Joseph, MO. In addition they will give away 5 free tickets too. Food will be sold at the event for $3.00 a plate. A plate will include one hotdog and chips, drinks will be sold separately at a price to be determined.
