The walls framed on Saturday will eventually be part of the homes that will stand at 3224 and 3228 Fairfield Ave. in the Evanston neighborhood. The walls will be delivered to the build sites for the official wall raising ceremony and construction kick-off on Saturday, April 9.
To celebrate 100 years as part of the Cincinnati community, Ohio National Financial Services has committed to funding the construction of 10 Habitat for Humanity homes over a five year period, representing the largest ever one-time gift to Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity. The homes on Fairfield Ave. represent the fifth and sixth homes Ohio National is building in the Cincinnati community.
“Working together with our associates we’re pleased to know we’re helping our Habitat partner families build a better future,” said Gary T. “Doc” Huffman, Ohio National’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Beginning the building process at our Home Office will be a unique start for our next homes. We can take advantage of the space on our corporate campus and provide a new opportunity to associates who have never been part of a traditional build. It’s an exciting new part of our proud relationship with Cincinnati Habitat.”
“We are so honored that Ohio National chose to mark their centennial anniversary by partnering with Cincinnati Habitat and ten local families in need. For the past 100 years, ONFS has been an integral part of the service community here in Cincinnati,” said Ed Lee, Executive Director of Cincinnati Habitat.
To qualify for their Habitat home, the families must meet a variety of criteria, and work beside volunteers from Ohio National, investing 500 hours of sweat equity into the construction of their home. Cincinnati Habitat will sell the home to the family with a 0 percent, 20-year, interest-free mortgage payable to Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity.
